World Sight Day — Making a Difference Through the Gift of Sight

World Sight Day is observed on the second Thursday of October and brings global attention to the importance of eye health. It also reminds us of the difference access to quality eye care can make in protecting and improving vision.

rely on our vision every day—for working, driving, reading, learning, and enjoying the people and moments around us. Millions of people worldwide live with vision problems that could be corrected or treated with proper care. Unfortunately, many do not have access to eye exams, glasses, or trained eye care professionals.

At Valley Vision Optometry, caring for vision extends beyond the patients we see in our office. For 15 years, we’ve been proud to support Optometry Giving Sight and participate in the World Sight Challenge, helping expand access to eye care in under-resourced communities around the world.

Giving Sight Challenge

Optometry Giving Sight supports programs that help provide essential eye exams, glasses, equipment, and training for eye care professionals—giving more people the opportunity to see clearly and experience a better quality of life.

This World Sight Day, we invite our patients, friends, and community to help us continue our 15-year tradition of giving back. If you would like to join us in making a difference, you can contribute through our fundraising page:

Every contribution, no matter the amount, can help bring much-needed vision care to someone who might otherwise go without.

And while World Sight Day focuses on improving access to vision care around the globe, it’s also a great reminder to take care of your own eyes. Regular comprehensive eye exams can help identify changes in your vision and detect potential concerns early.

Thank you for supporting Valley Vision Optometry and Optometry Giving Sight. Together, we can continue our commitment to helping more people experience the gift of sight.

Love your eyes. Protect your vision. Help someone else see a brighter future.
