Signe
"With God all things are possible."
Signe is an Eyewear Consultant at Valley Vision Optometry, bringing decades of experience in optical care and a deep commitment to helping patients find eyewear solutions that meet both their vision needs and personal style.
Born and raised in Port Coquitlam, British Columbia, Signe grew up with a strong appreciation for family, community, and meaningful work. As a child, she dreamed of becoming a mom and a florist—reflecting both her nurturing nature and creative eye for detail.
Signe is a proud mother to one son. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, which remains one of the most important parts of her life outside of work.
Her favorite book is The Bible, and her favorite movie is It’s a Wonderful Life, both of which reflect her values and outlook on life.
Signe has completed studies at Douglas College, Northwest Baptist College, and Sprott Shaw College. She completed the Dispensing Optician program at Douglas College, followed by her practicum at PoCo Vision Care, where she dedicated 27 years of service to the optical field. This extensive experience has given her a strong foundation in eyewear dispensing, patient care, and long-term relationship building.
She was drawn to Valley Vision Optometry after relocating to Port Alberni and seeing an opportunity to continue her career as an Eyewear Consultant in a new environment.
Signe enjoys the opportunity to meet new people every day and help them find eyewear solutions that improve both their vision and confidence. She describes her biggest contribution to the team as her years of experience in the optical industry, which provide valuable knowledge and guidance.
One of the challenges she has faced since joining the team has been adapting to new computer systems, particularly after not growing up in a highly digital environment. She approaches this learning curve with patience and a willingness to grow.
Her advice to new team members is simple and encouraging: “Breathe. It will all come together.”
