Born and raised in Medellín, Colombia, Maria grew up with a wide range of interests and ambitions. As a child, she first dreamed of becoming a veterinarian and later considered a career in law enforcement, inspired by a desire to help and protect others.
Maria is married and is the proud mother of a young toddler named Arabella. While she does not currently have pets, she has a deep love for animals and has previously rescued and helped rehome several dogs.
Outside of work, Maria enjoys spending time with her family and is also active as a content creator in Colombia. Her interests reflect a creative and family-centered lifestyle. She enjoys films and series such as The Truman Show, The Matrix series, and Harry Potter and is an avid reader of spirituality-focused literature, particularly the Apocryphal Gospels.
Maria holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Universidad CES in Colombia, with a focus in clinical psychology. Her academic background has equipped her with strong communication, organizational, and confidentiality skills, all of which are essential in her role supporting a healthcare practice.
Her psychology training has played an important role in her ability to manage sensitive information, maintain professionalism, and communicate effectively within a fast-paced clinical environment. She was drawn to Valley Vision Optometry because of her interest in supporting healthcare teams through administrative work and contributing to overall patient care.
Maria values the collaborative and supportive team environment at Valley Vision Optometry, noting that she appreciates the leadership and positive working relationships across the team. She also values the flexibility of remote work while still feeling meaningfully connected to the organization’s success.
She describes her biggest contribution to the team as her consistent support in managing ongoing administrative tasks and ensuring that behind-the-scenes workflows remain organized and up to date.
