Your top 3 favorite Books? The Art of Racing in the Rain, The Lost Flowers of Alice Heart and A Thousand Ships.

What is something that people in your role must deal with that you want to fix? Not necessarily anything to fix, but we try to keep our pre-tests to a limited time so we’re able to keep a good flow throughout the day and it can be hard to keep times down when there’s so many unique people with lovely personalities that I get to meet!

What do you do at Valley Vision Optometry? I mainly pre-test patients. I gather data from our instruments and tests which our doctors use to help prescribe a prescription or to find any serious or underlying issues with the eyes.

What are your credentials/experience, for working in your position? I’ve been in the industry for over two years now and am currently enrolled in the Canadian Certified Optometric Assistant Course.

What attracted you to work at Valley Vision Optometry? I knew I wanted to stay in the optical industry and Valley Vision drew me in with its stunning interior, fun staff and admirable mission.

What’s your background? I grew up on the Island with my parents, sister and dog. We were always out fishing, camping, or exploring Port Alberni and neighboring areas.

What are the values that drive you? Compassion, integrity, and a strong belief that family is of fundamental importance. 

What advice would you give a candidate who wants to join our team of superstars? Be yourself and always be ready to learn!


What do you enjoy doing when you are not working? I enjoy reading and spending time with my boyfriend going fishing and exploring.

In another life, I believe I would be a cat, I like to lounge around a little too much.

What's the most inspiring part of your job? To see the end results! It is so uplifting to be able to see what a difference we can make in people’s lives.
