In Memorial: Sharanne

We are sad to report that Sharanne was taken from us last week in a long-standing battle with cancer.

Sharanne joined our practice in 1991 as a Frame Stylist. A natural communicator, Sharanne excelled at this position, but she was interested in the medical side of optometry, so she pushed herself to learn the role of vision care coordinator. In doing so, she became a Canadian Certified Optometric Assistant. When Dr. Golemba purchased Valley Vision Optometry in 2005, he recognized Sharanne’s skill set and invited her on a journey to expand her skills in the discipline of Vision Therapy.

With adventures to Calgary, Vancouver, Phoenix, and L.A., Sharanne completed the core curriculum of the Optometric Education Program Foundation and went on to help hundreds of children and adults with functional vision problems for the remainder of her career.

She is sorely missed, but we will remember her big smiles and warm heart in our Vision Therapy Centre, which we have dedicated to her.
