Dr. Shaun Golemba
With an undergraduate background in Biology and Biochemistry from the University of Regina, Dr. Golemba pursued his Doctor of Optometry degree at the University of Waterloo in Ontario. Educational interests in Pediatrics and Binocular Vision were enhanced through rotations in clinics in Waterloo and Houston, Texas. While at the Houston Eye Associates in Texas, Dr. Golemba worked under a pediatric sub-specialist and also completed internships in retina and glaucoma. Since convocation in 2001, Dr. Golemba practiced in Victoria and did locums throughout British Columbia until 2005, when he purchased Valley Vision Optometry from Dr. Stickle, who had been practicing here since 1960. Since then, the office has been upgraded to include computerized recording, Eyemaginations educational software, Optomap retinal exams, digital photography. 2006 saw the opening of our Vision Training department for those with binocular vision anomalies and learning disorders. Dr. Golemba completed his core education in this area from the Optometric Extension Program Curriculum in 2008. In 2010, Valley Vision Optometry had a complete remodel of the interior and exterior office. Separate from clinical duties, Dr. Golemba has also been a guest speaker at several conferences both in Canada and abroad. When not at work, Dr. Golemba enjoys hiking and biking with his wife, Shannon, their children, Aiden and Sejal, and their pug dog, Max. Dr. Golemba is committed to ensuring you have the best eye care experience and thanks you for choosing Valley Vision Optometry.
